So very excited to have the new store open! I got a bug up my butt and decided to open it early!

Since I'm working at ONHS on M,T,W, and will be there through May... I have JUNQUE DRAWER BOUTIQUE & STUDIO open on Th, Fri & Sat. in April & May. My hours are 10-6. In June, the shop will be open T,W,Th,F, & Sat! 10-6 ..... If you are having a hard time visualizing where I'm located, look for The Yellow Barn (great home decor & much more AND a fabulous neighbor!!!) They have a "yellow barn" sign on Ridgeview between 119th & College. My funky sun sign will be rising up soon. A wonderful artist, Ann, is creating it for me. Most days the coffee pot is on, iced tea is brewing & cookies are baking....so come look at the funky, fabulous jewelry & the plethora of products in a relaxing, log home atmosphere. My sister, Sue, and daughter, Hannah, and I just returned from a great market experience in Chicago and soooo much cool stuff is coming in during the next few weeks!!! I am still in the crazy stages of re-doing my studio...who would have known it would take this long???!!! My family would've told you that, but oh well. As soon as I get it the way I want it, I will put out a new art class schedule....meanwhile, go ahead and call me to book a party. In the last month I hosted a 10-woman fabulous friends group birthday celebration at the dining room table where they created awesome journals and a 7 year old's birthday party where they magically transformed wooden hinged boxes into the dreamiest jewelry/treasure boxes you have ever seen. The fabulous birthday crown was worn & every participant got photograhed.

Remember to join me the first Thursday night of every month from 5-8 pm at trendz (151st & Nall in Leawood)...go to trendzmarket.com for details. I have 2 booths there and would love for you to check out all the new gift items, greeting cards, wall art, & jewelry that I've found or created!! Also, look for the price changes coming on my website!!! You'll be happy!

Will get the school year wrapped up (am a high school counselor in my real, big-girl job) and move into the summer CREATIVE time...ahhhh! I also get to marry two of my favorite people in Colorado in June. Never officiated a wedding before...look out...maybe a new occupation!

Thursday, Mar. 4th...5-8 pm at Trendz, 151st & Nall, Leawood....It's the 1st Thursday girls night out and it will be fabulous!!! Great fashion, home decor, jewelry & other adornments. January '10...Happy 2010!...geez, louise, it's a winter wonderland out here on Acorn Hill, west of Olathe. There is about a foot of snow on the ground and it's gorgeous!!!

junque drawer studio had a fabulous year! What a ride! I will be taking Jan./Feb. 2010 off to unearth the mess in my studio and actually sort and organize so that the creating can resume in March. The ART ADVENTURE classes will also resume in my studio in March. I will be posting those classes here & on my website, junquedrawerstudio.com. Hello! I have a small boutique and a studio west of Olathe, KS where I peddle found object & collaged jewelry, wall art & home decor pieces. I open my shop once a month on a Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm OR anytime by appointment. I LOVE to make custom art pieces for your body or home...creating your personalized name or quote sign for home or business, re-vamping your jewelry pieces into a new piece, and using game pieces to put together a necklace, bracelet or earrings. A friend adored the scotty dog Monopoly piece as a child, ... now she has vintage scotty dog pieces hanging from her lobes and loves them!

I would love to host an art party at my studio or at Stuff's art studio... birthdays, ladies night out, happily ever after, or "for absolutely no reason other than to make art stuff with your friends" parties!!!!! Seven nine year olds and I just created wonderful necklaces & bracelets together and the birthday girl wore a cool funky crown created by all the birthday party attendees. Welcome to junque drawer studio!!! .....Art, Jewelry and Therapy all wrapped up together!!...

I have been a counselor for 30 years and an artist/dumpster diver since I won a girl scout art award in kindergarten and was lifted into my first alleyway dumpster in 1st grade to get some good used stuff. I've decided to go for it and open my own shop & teach some of the fun stuff I've figured out to do...so come join me...

My junque drawer studio will be open for shopping and snacking experiences on the following Saturdays: Aug. 4, Sept. 22, Oct. 13, Nov. 3 and Dec. 8.
